rough life

Tim sent me a picture from the view in his hotel room at the Aria in Las Vegas while on business there...he entitled it "Rough Life."

I sent him a picture of my view at home...

So. Not. Fair.

But extremely grateful for his job so that I can be a stay at home Mom while he enjoys an incredible meal, quiet hotel room, 60 degrees and days on the golf course. I'll enjoy serving my kids mac & cheese and eating a bowl of cereal for dinner. Then having to finish folding the laundry so that I have somewhere to sleep. Doesn't seem right, but I really wouldn't trade him for anything. I'll take my job over his any day! {okay, maybe not any day, but most days.}

We were there...right there!  It felt like we were closer.  It felt like Dave was singing to me all night long (not really it just sounded cool).  I loved being so close to the band during the concert, without a million people stepping all over me.  Dave and the band were amazing.

Tim & I were lucky to be with the biggest Dave fan's we know...Vandee & James (our friends and neighbors) and Clint & Becca (my bro and sis-in-law).  They gave us all the inside info and knew the songs before the first chords were even played.  We had such a great night! 

twelve years

{June 22, 2010 we celebrate our 12-year-wedding anniversary}

Tim & I were in California on vacation with our family when our anniversary came around.  Tim thought we should leave the boys with his parents and celebrate with a night out in Cali.  I thought we should spend the time with our family and celebrate after we got home.  

I won....just like I always do.

Not just because I always get my way {which I usually do}, but because I'm married to this man. 

I won...18 years ago when I first noticed Tim across the room at a church dance (sad, but true!)

I won...16 years ago when I was finally able to start "dating" Tim.

I won...15 years ago when I felt the horrible pains of losing someone I truly loved.  The day Tim left to serve a full-time mission I felt like a piece of me was gone.  I didn't know if we'd end up together in the end, but I knew that I really had fallen in love with him!

I won...13 years ago when Tim returned home from his mission and we discovered we were both still madly in love with each other.

I won...12 years ago when we were sealed together for time and all eternity.

I won...and I'm still winning every single day since we got married.  12 years ago I would have never dreamed that I could love this man so deeply, so intensely and so indescribably much, but I do.  

I won...because I discovered true love and I keep discovering it every single day!
