no comment

Last week I made my big debut back to blogging. After taking a month {or so} away from blogger, I returned in all my triumphant glory with two new posts. I tell myself that I'm blogging for posterity purposes, journaling, etc. However, I've recently discovered that's not entirely true. After my two new posts I found that I was eagerly awaiting comments.

I waited.
I waited.
Finally, one comment
and then a second, third and fourth.
That's all!

Needless to say, I was disappointed. I only got four {wonderfully nice} comments from all my friends and family out there and one of them was from my MOM. I know, I know, my posts were not that exciting, but still! I started thinking about the blogging world and realized that I was such a hypocrite. Here I was, patiently awaiting some validation, and I was not even commenting on my friends and families blogs. I still check blogs, but I rarely comment anymore.

Starting today...that's changing!
I'm going to comment.

I've decided that if I'm going to take time to look at a blog, I'm going to comment. I didn't realize how much I liked the validation, until I wasn't receiving it. I decided that if I expected people to comment on my blog than I needed to do the same for them.

Basically what I'm saying is that I'd love to hear from you. Yes, I took a break from blogging and abandoned you. I can understand that you would feel betrayed. However, I'm back. I'm here to stay {for now}. If you have a blog, I will comment. I promise. Please forgive me for taking you for granted.

Listen sister,
I hardly ever get comments, one or two here or there. You should feel very proud of your four.
Oh, BTW, I am so proud to be the first to comment on your no comment post.
Love the picture of Parker. Classic.

I am sorry that I haven't been commenting. I read your blog on google reader and rarely go to your actual blog any more and then I run out of time to post a comment. I love reading your blog and seeing what you guys are up to. The kids love to look at the pictures on your blog. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my blog. I too love to get comments. Keep blogging and I will try to remember to leave comments!

Sorry I didn't comment on your last new updates but I was feeling neglected by you since I get on my google reader everyday and you have been MIA. Posting some more stuff on my blog today then promise I will email you the link. Has to be perfect first though :)! and I will call you back when Brian gets home from work since I don't get more minutes until tmrw! Keep the posts coming!

OH and one more thing... sorry this isn't a new comment, still ME! How do you add a picture to your account? and how do you do the other things you might like at the bottom of your posts? VERY COOL!

Brittany- I haven't commented because I've been a lurker- someone that you probably didn't know read your blog- I don't know why I haven't come out until now- because to be honest your blog is one of the best I read- it inspires me, it is real, it tells the good and the bad, it's honest, it's beautiful! I absolutely love you! I think you are a very lovely person and I am so happy that I know you. Your family is so cute and you are such a great mom. Hopefully you don't mind a little lurking now and then :) Amanda Hughes Shaw

OK Brit, what are we thinking? We do not want to raise an exhibitionist in our family.

You are so funny! Welcome back to blogging world! I always have to put a little more effort to follow your blog because I read the blog that's on top of my blog list and you blog according to the date so it's not always on top. Today I just thought of you and decided to check and I was so excited to hear about your life again!
Parker's party looked so fun. How very creative. And please don't feel like you have to comment on my blog. :)

I so do the same thing. I just realized the same thing this past week, I don't ever comment. So realize you're not alone.
